Very dirty! I know it's a cabin but I still would expect clean towels and white sheets most were dingy yellow the point if using white towels and sheets is to be able to throw in some bleach. The reason they have a 14 day cancellation policy is because I'm sure most do like we did walk in take one look around and figure out they want some place cleaner. Investing in some new towels and sheets would do this place a lot of good! Note to self you get what you pay for. Spend a little extra and be more comfortable! The bed was so old and uncomfortable my husband couldn't sleep!
Air conditioning in July was a relief and it worked great! Cabin 16A nicely fit 3 adults and 2 kids. Fridge, microwave, nice shower with enough hot water for at least 4 showers. My city slicker kids weren't used to the insects (which I expected) inside though (including IN the loft bed)....spiders, some things with wings, ants. They had adequate entry since there was virtually no seal around the door--sun shines through door. Beautiful setting! Great location for local attractions. Check out 10am--bit early considering what you pay per night. They provide linens, but they are old and poor quality, so consider bringing your own. Beds aren't very comfortable.
Very nice place to stay. Very close to the town of Keystone that has several good places to eat. There is also an 1880's train that goes between Keystone and Hill city which I highly recommend for an enjoyable scenic ride. Holy Smoke is also close to Mount Rushmore. I would recommend Holy Smoke resort to anyone.
Cute little location, and really convenient if you're looking to experience the Black Hills area. The porches are nice for making your own food, and the entire place is very quiet (except for the highway, which still isn't loud as far as highways go). Cabins are clean, staff is friendly. We bought wine from the office, and the lady there really tried her best to open it for us, it was endearing.
Great location, nice people, clean cabin. I would put a little more light in the cabin we stayed in. Like an overhead light just had lamps. That is why not 5
