We loved staying here. We tent camped for 2 nights. Choose it originally because it was very late and we were desperate for a place to camp. They allowd us pitch our tent late and pay in the morning. We had 3 small children with us. The campground has a small playground they enjoyed as well as a little creek you can play in. The bathrooms were very clean and well maintained (with hot water). Tent sites had a little hut with picnic table, fire pit, and grill. Didn't eat at the cafe but the staff was very friendly. Definitely will return if we camp out this way again.
What an amazing experience! I stayed with my wife for three days. The people were so friendly, helpful, and hard working. You can really feel the respect and love for the area. We made fast friends with everyone there and were planning our return trip before we even left. There is a great gift shop with local art and an amazing trail to an old mining town behind the camp grounds that is a must see, especially for photographers. Getting to be near the wolves and hearing the howling in the evening and morning was inspiring. Everyone is very informed and they love their animals and the beautiful historic and natural surroundings. I can't say enough how amazing this place is. Comfortable, safe, inviting, and a must stop if you are even close to the area.
They gave us an amazing experience while we were around 11/10 would recommend
My daughter picked the camp and I stayed there with them. It was Hands down the best rustic camping experience I have ever had. Food was great and the owners helpful and more than kind and hospitable. I felt safe there. As an expediter safe haven means a lot to me. Hope to pass through there again some time soon and explore the trails near there some more.
This is a great place to stay, we were sad to leave. This is a place You are treated like family. The staff is great and my daughter loved the wolf's. It is one of the cleanest and well maintained campgrounds I have been to. The bathrooms are clean and the food is great. This is our new go to place when we visit the black hills. I can't wait to visit again.
