AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unless you like creepy crawlers in your bed.
The only reason I gave it a 1 star is because of the location. The rooms are simple, which I am fine with. The window air conditioning ran all night long and was loud. Hard to sleep. Carpet was covered in stains. I can look past that but the people who run the place are rude. We stayed 2 nights, the second night a lady came running out of the lobby door yelling at my husband across the parking lot. She rudely said "WHAT ROOM NUMBER ARE YOU IN". He told her and she went back in. Not 30 seconds later she comes out screaming that no one was in that room # and we can not park there. I told her to check her paperwork and if she would look at the parking paper, that was on our dash of our vehicle they gave us, it said when we were checking out. I have never been treated like that any place we have stayed. Continental breakfast was not at the time they stated. They had nothing prepared. The maid were less then pleasant. We met another couple who were staying there. They were not pleased either and said that maybe if the staff were pleasant they would of had more customers compared to the hotels in the area.
Checked in and then got a refund within 5 minutes. Bed bugs. The manager on duty killed it amd said "thats not a bed bug if it was it would have squished blood when I squeezed it". No sir. You have a bed bug I found in the sheets before I even put my bag down. It would only squish blood if it had already bitten me.
We didn't even stay the night. We decided to leave and find another hotel at 10 pm instead, it was that bad.
We stopped by here today and had one of the strangest encounters with a business that I've ever had. We pulled into the parking lot and planned on going in to see if they had rooms available. Our toddler had made a mess of his snack in the back seat so my husband was cleaning him up when a lady came out the front door and yelled at us from across the parking lot "are you staying here!?" Both our hands were full and honestly we were surprised at being addressed like that so we said "just a second" kind of over our shoulder. Meanwhile our oldest son had gotten car sick and was trying to change out of his shirt in the back of the car, my husband stayed to wait for him and I took our younger ones to look at the stores. I came back a few minutes later to see a man standing inches away from my husband shaking a finger in his face and another lady standing there screaming at him to move his car. Without any preamble, they had come out yelling at him to move his car right away. He said he couldn't because he was waiting for someone to change... cue more yelling and then the guy coming out and getting in his face. Needless to say we won't be staying the night here! I'm still having a hard time processing that any adult could act like that.
Simple and dated, but the room was very clean and the was much larger than most hotels I have stayed in.
If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. The only reason anybody would consider staying here is because it is close to Mt. Rushmore. The rooms are absolutely DISGUSTING. I walked in a was immediately assaulted by the stench of stale cigarettes. The carpets were covered with stains and there were bugs everywhere! We lifted the mattress and a huge spider crawled out! There were dead bugs in the dresser drawers and along the walls. The grossest room hotel room I have ever been in.
