Well, it was pretty good. Large room, clean. Staff was friendly, in a good location. The only eh thing was the parking spots are too narrow and a lot of cars double spaced, but even with a booked night, everyone found space. Didn't get in the pool, but both days we were there it was full, so I guess people enjoy it. No free breakfast. So over all, not too bad. I would definitely stay again.
Got this place last minute, read the reviews saying it sucked, but with everything else booked, figured "oh, well"
Fantastic! Large rooms with comfortable beds, fire place and views of roaming deer on hill slope adjacent.
Rooms were adequate if somewhat dated and our second floor room faces the parking lot. The breakfast room / small conference room / storage area had a large table and chairs with room for one person at a time to scoot around, a mini fridge for the jugs of juices, a counter for cups and such and a TV. The staff was friendly and available. Parking spaces are tight but the lot is not too crowded. Was a good visit but would like to try another hotel next time for variety. Stay here for the location and price.
After seeing beautiful pictures of this hotel on line and confirming the were pet friendly and had a pool, I booked our room. After a six hour drive we get checked in only to be told the restaurant at the hotel is closed as is the pool. Then we open the door to our room:::::::: GROSS:::::: it was very small, dirty and stunk. I paid 105.00 for one night and couldn't even sleep in the room. The pictures on line lie, those rooms were horrible
Our whole family just spent last weekend at this hotel and the experience was horrible. First off, even though my mom's confirmation was for 5 rooms, but they charged her four 6 rooms. Once we got that cleared up, we had to find our rooms. The hotel was undergoing maintenance and the room numbers were all changed, with a classy pink post-it displaying the new number. It would have been a nice courtesy of the hotel staff to notify us that the room directions do not indicate the updated room numbers, or better yet, give us some general directions. The 2 rooms for my immediate family were fine, clean beds, but the carpet was crusty. My brothers room for his family came with a air unit that only blew hot air. He immediately contacted the hotel staff. Instead of them locating him to another room, they argued with him that it was working just fine. The maintenance guy came and said the same thing. My brother installs heating and air systems for a living, but anyone could tell that the unit is malfunctioning when it only blows hot air, no matter what setting it is on. When he asked to be moved to the extra room we were originally charged for, they told him they couldn't put any guests in that room until the cancellation was finalized the next day. He then told them to cancel his room as well and he would find a different hotel. That is when they finally moved him to a different room 1 1/2 hours after we checked in. The next day, after a long day of sight seeing, I couldn't wait to soak in the hit run. It wasn't even warm. My baby's bath water is warmer than that. The following morning at checkout, my mom discovered she was charged $20/per night/per room more than what her confirmation states. Overall, this was a total flop in the customer service and hospitality division. The only positive thing this hotel has going for them is the proximity to Mt Rushmore. I would suggest that travelers stay at the Holiday Inn just down the street
